NOTICE: IMPLEMENTATION OF 100% E-VISA ISSUANCE

This is to notify the General Public that:
 

1. To all visitors and tourists: The Government of the Republic of Kenya wishes to announce that all Visa Applications for all visa categories will be applied for, processed and issued online effective 1st January 2021. Apply for your e- visa through:www.evisa.go.ke portal.

2. http://www.kenya-evisa-online.com is NOT the Kenyan government website for online visa applications. It is a SCAM Evisa Application Website. The Government website for online visa application is: www.evisa.go.ke

3.The Official e-visa website is www.evisa.go.ke and the official e-mail address for the Directorate of Immigration Services is: evisa@immigration.go.ke .

VISA APPLICATION PROCEDURES

 

ONLINE APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR VISITORS TO KENYA

1. Go to  www.evisa.go.ke  and click on the register button.

2. register as a visitor.

3. complete the registration.

4. Once registered and logged in click on Department of Immigration

5. Then submit an application.

6. Click on the Kenyan Visa.

7. Click on the Visa Applicaion Form and the requirements

8. Fill in the application form and PAY ONLINE. 

SINGLE JOURNEY VISA

This type of visa is valid for 90 days and Application for it will now be done online as explained above.

GRATIS/COURTESY VISA (for Diplomatic, official and service visits)

Gratis Visa is issued to holders of Diplomatic, Official and Service passports on official visits to Kenya from Israel. Kindly apply through:www.evisa.go.ke 
  • Original Note Verbale from the concerned Embassy/Consulate/International Organization.
  • Processing Fee: Gratis
  • Processing time: 1 working day
 
TRANSIT VISA

These visas are required by all persons whose nationalities require visas to enter Kenya and are intending to transit through Kenya to a third destination for periods not exceeding three (3) days. They are issued strictly in accordance with the provisions of Categories 1 (Nationals of the countries that do not require visas to enter Kenya); (Nationals of the countries who may be issued with visas on application), and; 3 (Nationals of the countries, classes and categories of persons who require referred visa) of the Visa Regulations (See below).

Application for this type of visa will now be done online as explained above.

MULTIPLE JOURNEY VISA

The Visa is generally valid for one (1) year and renewal of the Visa is subject to the frequency of travels to Kenya during that year under review.

REFERRED VISAS

The following persons require a Referred Visa to travel to Kenya:
  • All Palestinians, including those living in Jordan
  • Any person holding an Israeli Travel Document
  • All Eritreans
  • All Libyans

HEALTH MATTERS:

Currently, Certificates of inoculation against Yellow Fever and Cholera are not required for all travelers from Israel, the East African Community Partner States, Europe, Asia, North America, Australia, North and South America except from visitors arriving from countries where these diseases are endemic.

However, valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificates are required for all travelers over one (1) year old, arriving from Yellow Fever endemic countries mainly in Central and West Africa, South and Central America, South East Asia, India, Nepal Sri Lanka, Bangladesh. Vaccinations for international travellers are obtainable from all international air and sea ports, cities and major municipal councils.

Note: Yellow Fever Certificate is valid 10 days after vaccination.

Malaria prevention is strongly recommended, and travellers from Israel to Kenya are advised to bring along Malaria Prophylaxis as well as other personal medicines, sun-protection creams and mosquito repellents.

 

CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) INFORMATION FOR THOSE TRAVELLING TO KENYA

  1. COVID-19 Negative Certificate taken not more than 96 Hrs before is a must. The Certificate must include the Date of Testing and the Date of Arrival at any Port of Entry into Kenya.
  2. The Mandatory MoH Traveler’s Health Online Form must be filled and submitted prior to travel, preferably a day before travel date. Access the Form here: https://bit.ly/covid19moh
  3. Normal COVID-19 Airport protocols (Temperature taking at Port-health booths, Maintaining Social Distance between person to person at all times in all areas, Washing of hands and maintaining recommended general hygiene) will be followed at all Airports, Seaports and Land Borders.
  4. For travelers departing from Kenya to any destination globally, must endeavor to check the test requirements of transit and destination countries on xchange.panabios.org or www.africacdc.org/trusted-travel to ensure that their tests remain valid for the duration of their full trip.

CATEGORIES OF VISAS

There are three (3) Categories of Visas:
Category 1

  1. Nationals of the following Countries do not require visas to enter Kenya: Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Brunei Darussalam, Burundi, Cyprus, Dominica, Fiji Islands, Ghana, Grenada, Jamaica, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia (For up to 30 days-stay), Maldives, Mauritius, Namibia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa (For up to 30 days-stay), St. Kitts and Navis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Swaziland, Seychelles, Tanzania, The Bahamas, The Gambia, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
  1. The following persons do not require visas to enter Kenya:

a) Persons with Passports endorsed with valid Kenya re-entry passes (or any other written authority in lieu of a re-entry pass)
b) All passengers arriving and leaving by the same ship, and who do not leave the ship
c) All passengers in transit through Kenya, arriving and leaving by the same aircraft or transferring to another aircraft and who do not leave the international Airports in Kenya.
d) Holders of United Nations and other International Organization’s Laissez-Passers, whilst on official business or duties.

  1. The following countries have concluded Visa Abolition Agreements with Kenya:

a) Ethiopia

b) San Marino

Category 2

a) Nationals of the following countries, classes and categories of persons may be issued with Visas on application, and without reference to the Director of Immigration Services Nairobi, provided that they do not fall under the classes and Categories of Prohibited Immigrants described above:

Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Benin, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bosnia, Brazil, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroun, Canada, Cape Verde, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile (Nationalist), China Peoples Republic, Colombia, Comoros, Congo Brazzaville, Costa Rica, Cote d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Croatia, Cuba, Czech Republic, Denmark, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, DRC, East Timor, Egypt, El Salvador, Ecuador, Equatorial Guinea, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guyana, Gabon, Georgia, Germany, Greece, Greenland, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Haiti, Herzegovina, Holders of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Honduras, Hungary, Iceland, India, Indonesia, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Korea (South), Kuwait, Laos, Latvia, Liberia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Macedonia, Madagascar, Mali, Malta, Marshall Islands, Mauritania, Mexico, Micronesia, Moldavia, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Myanmar (Burma), Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palau Pacific Isles, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Salvador, Sao Tome and Principe, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sri Lanka, St. Christopher Cape, Sudan, Surinam, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor East (Timoreste) Togo, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, USA, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, UK, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Vatican City, Venezuela and Vietnam.

b) Delegates (including spouses and children accompanying them) attending regional or international Conferences, Meetings, Workshops, Seminars and Courses sponsored by regional or international organizations of which Kenya is a Member.

c) Diplomats arriving to take up diplomatic assignments/appointments in Kenya may be issued with Gratis Entry Visa on application and without reference to the Director of Immigration Services Nairobi, provided that:

  1. Such a person produce documentary evidence of their official assignment/appointment to Kenya.
  2. Spouses and children accompanying such Diplomats who fulfill the above requirements and do not fall under Prohibited Immigrants Category.
d) Diplomats and Government Officials coming to Kenya to conduct official business or transiting through Kenya may be issued entry/transit visas on application provided that:
  1. Such a person produces documentary evidence of their nature of official business transit.
  1.  Spouses and children accompanying such Diplomats who fulfill the above requirements and do not fall under Prohibited Immigrants Category.

Note:
Diplomats and Government officials on private visits to Kenya and who are Nationals of Countries that require Referred Visa, shall have their Visa Applications referred to the Director of Immigration Services, Nairobi, for approval, in the manner prescribed.

Category 3

a) Nationals of Countries, Classes and Categories of persons who require Referred Visa include: Afghanistan, Armenia, Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Korea (DPRK), Iraq, Kosovo, Lebanon, Palestine,  Somalia, Syria, Tajikistan and Yemen.

b) Applicants against whom the Embassy has some local objections or doubt.

c) Stateless persons, or persons holding invalid Passports or other travel documents issued by their own country of nationality, including recognized refugee holders of the United Nations Refugee Travel Documents

d) Prohibited Immigrants as described above.

EAST AFRICAN TOURIST VISAS (EATV)

Eligible persons: Any Israeli (or foreigner- depending on fulfiling certain conditions) who wants to visit simultaneously the Republic of Kenya, Republic of Rwanda and Republic of Uganda for tourism. An East African Tourist Visa is multiple entries visa and shall be valid for 90 days.

Where to apply: All applications for this Visa shall be lodged through the Kenya Government website: www.evisa.go.ke or any Diplomatic representation of the Republic of Rwanda and Republic of Uganda, at the Immigration Offices of the respective countries or online where applicable.

Dependants: All persons MUST apply in their own right.

Travel Documents: Any genuine and acceptable travel document valid not less than 6 months.

Visa Fees: Fees shall be  payable online via :www.evisa.go.ke as explained above.

Single or Multiple Entry: Multiple entry – The holder of the East African Tourist Visa shall enter from the country that issued the Visa and move within the 2 other countries without applying for another Visa or paying for another Visa fee. The holder shall be allowed to move out of the Republic of Kenya, Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of Uganda, and return without having to pay for another Visa. This will only be applicable in the period of 90 days (3 months).

Work or No Work: The East African Tourist Visa does not PERMIT a holder to work in any of the 3 countries.

Visa Extension: An East Africa Tourist Visa shall not be EXTENDED.

Requirements:

  • Duly filled Visa Application form.
  • Two (2) clear coloured passport size photos with white background recently taken without glasses, caps and scarf. The photos should be attached to the application form by the use of a glue stick. stapling and clipping the photo to the application form is not advisable.
  • Visa application letter addressed to the issuing authority of the concerned country (in this case to the Consular Division, Embassy of Kenya, Tel Aviv, Israel)
NOTE: Applicants from countries that require REFERRAL VISA shall apply for the East Africa Tourist Visa (EATV) from the Embassy whose Government has referral requirements.
