Resumption of International Air Travel to Kenya; 1st August 2020. Passenger Protocol at International Airports

PRE- ARRIVAL

Covid-19-Free Certificate

Passengers destined to Kenya must have a COVID-19 Free Certificate (done preferably 3 days -72hrs before travel)

Passenger Locator Card (PLC)

All passengers aboard an aircraft destined to Kenya shall fill out the PLC Card giving the following information: Name, Nationality, Passport/ID No., and Telephone Number(s) of the Next of Kin, Allocated Seat in the Aircraft of Travel and a Passengers’ Working Telephone Number. Air operators shall be required to ensure, without prejudice such forms are provided in-flight.

ARRIVAL PASSENGERS

All arriving passengers must maintain social distancing and wear surgical face masks covering both mouth and nose.

All passengers will have their temperature checked before entry into the airport.

Persons with temperatures above 37.5C, will have their temperatures checks repeated once again for confirmation purposes.

Any passenger with an elevated body temperature beyond 37.5C, will be referred to secondary assessment by port health services present at the airport, who will handle the passenger in accordance with public health guidelines.

Cashless and contactless operations at the service delivery points such as at the Immigration, Duty-Free Shops and catering outlets shall be encouraged. Visas, therefore, must be applied for and issued before departure.

Passengers will be kept up to date at all times by announcements through the airport public address system.

DEPARTURE PASSENGERS

Departing passengers must ensure they comply with pre-arrival requirements of the country of destination.

Passengers shall be encouraged to check-in online where they shall be required to provide detailed contact information for trace-back purposes if the need arise

Departing passengers shall be advised to take extra care to ensure they do not carry any prohibited items such as liquids, gels, aerosols (LAGS), greater than recommended quantities.

Cashless and contactless operations at the service delivery points such as at the Departure Immigration Booths, Duty-Free Shops and catering outlets shall be encouraged.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

Health Screening and Post-Arrival Quarantine:-

Airport Authorities will ensure that health screening is conducted in accordance with the protocols of Ministry of Health. Screening could include; pre-flight and post-flight self-declarations, temperature measurement and visual observation conducted by health professionals. Such a screening could identify potentially high risk persons that may require additional examination and management. Self or monitored quarantine will be determined by Port-Health Officials at the airport or point of entry.
